D1J Transportation Inc is an asset-based carrier headquartered in Manhattan, Illinois, focused on container drayage and intermodal freight for the Chicago market.
Who we are
A carrier you can call.
Chicago is the busiest rail hub in North America. Freight arriving by rail still needs a truck to finish the trip, and D1J handles that part. We pull containers off the ramps and deliver them to warehouses and distribution centers across the region, then bring the empties back.
Our trucks start and end every shift at our yard on South Cedar Road in Manhattan. That puts us close to the Elwood and Joliet intermodal parks and on the interstate to Chicago's city terminals.

Employ the drivers
Our drivers are full-time company employees, not independent contractors. They know our standards, our customers, and our yard.
Answer the phone
Loads are dispatched only by our in-house dispatch team. One desk handles your freight from the first call through the POD.
Do it safely
We follow federal and Illinois rules for commercial vehicles, and we keep a strict drug and alcohol policy for every driver.
